What is it?
In Epic, agents are able to set a client account as confidential as well as determine which agents in particular should have visibility and access to confidential client. Indio now supports the ability to bring over data from Epic about whether a client is confidential and determine which specific users will have access to the confidential client.
Why did we create this feature?
We created the confidential client feature in Indio to align with the privacy standards already established in Epic and to meet the real-world needs of our agencies. Agencies often work with highly private individuals such as celebrities, executives, or other sensitive clients and need an added layer of security ensuring that their information is only accessible to those with a legitimate need to know. Previously, Indio did not have functionality to support Epic’s confidential client settings, creating a risk of unintentional exposure when an account from Epic is synced to Indio. By implementing this feature, we’re ensuring that agencies can safely enable our integrations without compromising client confidentiality, empowering them to confidently manage their client's business.
Note: This feature is currently not available to all agencies. It is exclusively supported for Indio agencies that are using Epic. Please ensure that you and your agency/brokerage on Indio is utilizing Applied Identity and Epic Structures in Indio. This is to ensure that your Indio account is linked with your Epic account in order to pull the Epic structures combination that are available to your user on Epic to Indio. Without this login connection you're user will be unable to access accounts that are restricted using Epic structures or are set as a confidential client. If you would like to enable this feature for your agency, please contact our support team.
---How It Works---
In order to ensure a client is confidential make sure the option is set and selected on Epic. This functionality only aims to bring data regarding whether a client is confidential on Epic to Indio. On Indio there is no way to mark a client as confidential.
Once a client on Epic is set to confidential, head over to Indio and import client from Epic.
Note: If your agency auto-syncs client accounts from Epic to Indio, this step is optional.
If the imported client was a confidential client on Epic, we will see a key icon appear next to the client's name on Indio. Not only that, but heading over manage account we can see under general info a new info section appears letting users know that the client is confidential.
This icon will only display once a user who has access to the client clicks into the account. It will not display in the main accounts page of Indio.
Admins on Indio are able to view which users have access to confidential clients. Similar to how a key icon appears by the name of a confidential client account. On the the team management page, if a user has access to a confidential client account a key icon appears for that users by the user type role column.
---FAQ---
Will users who do not have access to a confidential client account be able to view a confidential client account?
No, a confidential client will not be visible or accessible for users who do not have access to confidential clients. They will also not be able to search for a confidential client account on Indio. A confidential client will on appear for users who strictly have access to them.
Why are Applied Identity and Epic structure in Indio necessary for confidential clients?
When a user logs in to Indio using Applied Identity, we are able to make a connection between the user's Epic account to their Indio account. This in turn allows us to retrieve the data regarding the user's Epic structure combinations. When a client account account is imported/synced from Epic to Indio, the account's structure combination is also pulled from Epic to Indio. This allows Indio to maintain similar levels of security and restrictions as Epic, which is a prerequisite for confidential clients. If a Client is updated to a confidential client will it automatically update on Indio?
If your agency runs auto-syncs on Indio then the client account will automatically update to become a confidential client. However, if you would like to manually import the new confidential client data over to Indio. Head over to Indio, and simply select sync with Epic and import the account for the sync to run manually and update.
